Debating whether to debate

Can someone please tell John McCain that the ability to multitask is pretty damn important in a president? Because the economy is imploding, he wants to call a time out and bail on this Friday's debate. The fact that he is unable to contribute to solving the economic crisis while prepping for a debate is utterly ridiculous.

Obama, on the other hand, is quoted as saying "This is exactly the time the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess." And he's absolutely right.

I haven't read any updates so far. I'm very curious to see what McCain does. The polls are looking better for OBama but there are still 40 days . . .

Meanwhile, the Anglican Church is getting into the action on the economy, asking some very basic questions that a lot of other people (ahem, the financial press, the powers that be, etc) are not:

Hear, hear! McCain is strugglin' and Obama rocked the press conference...I love that more than 85% of Americans (Republicans and Democrats alike) feel the debates should go on. I'm daring to hope again...

Hah! Micah and I were having this very discussion last night. "Oh noes--a crisis! Let me drop all this other important stuff I was working on and ignore it until it turns into several more crises!"
