New York City taxis are going green. Three hundred hybrid cabs are being introduced to the taxi fleet each month. It's unclear to me whether these are replacing 300 gas guzzlers every month or whether we'll all just have an easier time hailing a cab in the rain, but either way it's good news.

Too bad each of those cabs doesn't take a private car off the road — ideal — but I'll settle until zip car and cabs and buses and trains rule transit hubs everywhere.
New York Mayor Bloomberg's companies allowed numerous tax warrants, tax liens, Department of Labor judgments to occur that are scattered across the country from California to New York

Step in the right direction. Wonder if he'll do the 'congestion charging' scheme they have over here. That would end a ton of traffic! And anything that puts a cab in front of you when you need it is a good thing.
